My First Stab at Senior Portraits

This was my first attempt at Senior Portraits. It was different for my because they are supposed to be a little more posed than what I'm used to. Also, I like for the people in my portraits to be themselves, let they're personality shine, so to speak. I didn't want them to be too corny or posed. Looking at the finished product I can see where I need to improve but I don't think they're that bad. There should be many more to come (I hope).

Stephanie & Gary - October 17th, 2008

Washington DC-

For this wedding I was the second shooter for my friend Matt Jarvis (http://www.sivrajdigitalimaging.com/). Matt, Steph and I went to Navy A-School together back in 2001. I was so happy that Steph asked Jarvis and I to shoot her wedding because I'm always looking for an excuse to go to DC. It was great seeing old friends again and spending time in one of my favorite cities. It was an incredibly long day that started out at the J.W. Marriot downtown. They had a small, personal ceremony on the balcony of their enormous Presidential Suite overlooking the city. It was an amazing view. Then we headed down the street to the Ronald Reagan building where they had their "real" wedding and reception in the rotunda room which was an even better room. It was an amazing way to see one of my favorite places.

Kirsten & Patrick - Aug. 22nd, 2008

San Diego, California-

This was officially my last wedding shot in San Diego. I flew back there after moving to Ohio to shoot it. It was a blast and epitomized what I love and miss most about that town. First of all, it took place in Balboa Park at The Prado. I love Balboa Park and especially love The Prado so it was wonderful to shoot there again. Plus it was two different cultures coming together, Patrick is Armenian and Kirsten is from South Dakota (Dontcha know). It was awesome watching the two sides of the family hang out together, everyone was having such a great time. I hope it wasn't really my last time shooting there because I love that place so much. Until next time... "Stay classy San Diego" -Ron Burgandy.
