Melissa & Lee - July 26th, 2006

San Diego, California-

I don't think I had ever seen a happier bride than Melissa. She was completely stress free and just so casual. Nothing could have gotten in her way. At every wedding I get asked the question "So, do you like shooting weddings?" Of course I like shooting weddings, I love it. It's the best job I've ever had. I'm surrounded by happy (usually drunk) people, I get a free meal, and I only work once a week. It doesn't get any better than that. But at this wedding in particular I realized why I do it. I just can't get enough of the energy. Melissa never stopped smiling this whole day. She was overflowing with happiness, as you can see from the photos. Seeing two people so genuinely happy together gives me hope that it's still out there. This wedding took place on the U.S.S. Berkeley, an old cruise ship built sometime around the beginning of the 20th century, it's docked in the San Diego Harbor next to the same ship used in the film "Master and Commanders". It was absolutely beautiful. And the best part was the Captain Jack Sparrow impersonator they hired to entertain the kids, but it was the women that couldn't get enough of him.
